Tigers trail Georgia Tech by one shot

The Clemson Tigers are one stroke behind Georgia Tech entering the final round of the ACC golf tournament at the Old North State Club.

The Tigers had a one shot lead going into the second round by a 9-under par total by the Yellow Jackets moved Tech up three spots on the leader board.

Clemson was led by senior Billy Kennerly who shot a 6-under par 66 to tie for the best round of the day. Kennerly moved up into a tie for sixth place.

Miller Capps shot his second straight round under par posting a 1-under 71 to be in a tie for ninth place at 4-under par.

The individual lead in the conference championship belongs to Trevor Cone of Virginia Tech. Cone tied Kennerly at 6-under par for the day and now is at 10-under par and has a two shot lead over a pair of Georgia Tech golfers.

After Tech Clemson, FSU and Virginia are tied for second. The only other team with an under par total is Virginia Tech. The Hokies are in fifth place.

The final round begins on Sunday morning. Clemson will be paired with Florida State and Georgia Tech.
