Parrott and Reynolds share lead at SC Junior

Defending champion Jack Parrott of Columbia and Stephen Reynolds of Greenville share the lead heading into the final round of the SC Junior being played at The Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach.

Reynolds played in the morning wave and posted his second straight 1-over par round of 73. Parrott, playing in the last group of the day, also shot his second straight round of 73 to tie the Christ Church High School golfer.

First round leader Christian Salzer of Sumter followed up his opening round 1-under par 71 with a 76 to trail the leaders by one shot.

Salzer, who was the runner-up last year, is tied with Nick Willis of Cowpens and Will Sheppard of Mount Pleasant.

For the second day in a row only one player was able to break par. Brandon McBride of Bluffton shot a 1-under par 71 as the famed old course continued to keep the competitors in check.

The cut was made at 160 as 59 golfers made the final round in the boys 15-17 year old division. Nine golfers will compete for the 13-14 year old title.

Drayton Stewart has the lead in the younger boys division. He shot a second round 73 to card a two day total of 148. The Charleston golfer trails   the overall tournament leader by two shots.

The leaders will tee off at 9:39. The SCJGA will provide scores after nine holes for most of the field. The final two groups will have their scores posted hole by hole.
