Czarnecki and Burgess near the top at Twin-State

Ashley Czarnecki of Mauldin and Gracyn Burgess of Lexington are tied for second place at the Twin-State Junior Girls Championship being played in Chapel Hill.

Kathleen Sumner of Charleston has the lead after shooting a 3-under par 69 to hold a two shot lead.

Czarnecki recently won the WSCGA Girls state championship and has been in contention in two other recent tournaments.

Carly Lyvers of Greenville is tied for sixth and Elle Johnson of Inman is tied for eighth.

The final round of the event at the Chapel Hill Country Club will be played on Wednesday.
