Clemson rising sophomore Doc Redman knocked off the third seeded golfer in a round of 64 match at the US Amateur.
Redman made the field of 64 after winning a spot in an 8 for 13 playoff before the round The Raleigh, NC golfer was seeded 61st in the draw.
In his match Redman took control early. He held a 1-up lead through most of the front nine holes over Logan Lowe of California, who plays college golf at George Washington.
On the second nine the Clemson golfer went on a good run to win three straight holes starting on number 13.
The three hole wins gave Redman a 4 & 3 victory and a chance to play in the round of 32 on Thursday.
Incoming Clemson freshman Turk Pettit was knocked out of the tournament with a 2 & 1 loss to Noah Norton. Norton is a Georgia Tech golfer.
