Hendley takes the lead at Pebble Creek

The 2013 Greenville County Amateur champion is one round away from claiming his second county title.

Todd Hendley shot his second straight round of 5-under par 67 at Pebble Creek to get by first round leader Danny Brock and take a one shot lead.

Brock who had the best first round with a near record setting round of 8-under par 64 shot a 1-under 71 to stand alone in second place.

Derrick Oyervides posted a 4-under par 68 for a 135 total and third place going into the final round.

Clemson golfer Colby Patton will round out the final group off the tee on Sunday. Patton matched Oyervides 68 and is at 137 for the first 36 holes.

Defending champion Chris Eassy carded the best round of the day with a 6-under par 66 to join 2006 champion Garland Ferrell and Jesse Kinnutun in a tie for fifth place.

The second round was delayed for four hours by bad weather, but the top of the leader board includes 15 golfers who shot par or better.

The final round is scheduled to begin at 8 am with the leaders teeing off the first hole at 10:30.
