It seems almost everyday Furman’s Natalie Srinivasan has added another award to her trophy case.

The Lady Paladin senior received her third major award just this week.

The Spartanburg native earned 1st team Ping All-America honors on Tuesday.

On Wednesday she was named a finalist for the ANNIKA award the top award in women’s college golf.

To finish the week, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association honored her as the Ping Division I Player of the Year on Friday.

“It is such an honor to be named the 2020 Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year,” said Srinivasan.  “I would like to thank the NCAA and the WGCA for this amazing opportunity.  I also can’t thank my coach, Jeff Hull, enough for all of his dedication to me over the last four years.  Without him, I would not be where I am today.  This award means so much in the golf world, and I couldn’t be more grateful to receive it and end my senior year at Furman this way,” she said.

These honors followed the Spartanburg native’s recognition as the number 1 ranked player in the GolfStat final season rankings.

Srinivasan finished the year with three tournament titles and a runner up finish in the prestigious Darrius Rucker Intercollegiate.

She concluded her Lady Paladin career with a 72.6 stroke average over 118 rounds, the best career stroke average in Furman women’s golf history.

“I am so proud of Natalie for being the recipient of the Division I PING WGCA player of the year award,” said Hull.  “She had an amazing career at Furman, and for her to cap it off with this award is a testament to her hard work and dedication over the past four years.  Natalie epitomizes what a student-athlete should be and has set a very high bar going forward,” he said.

Srinivasan is the fifth Furman athlete to win a national player of the year award and first in women’s golf.

Srinivasan is one of three finalists for the ANNIKA Award which will be announced on May 8th.

The only other Paladin golfer to win a player of the year award was Brad Faxon in 1983.

Srinivasan will find out if she will sweep all the major awards in women’s golf this year when the ANNIKA Award winner is announced on May 8th.

The Dorman High grad is completing her final class work at Furman. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, America’s most prestigious honor society, Srinivasan holds a 3.87 GPA in health sciences and will turn pro after graduating in May.
