Dustin Johnson had a great day on Sunday taking a 5-shot lead into the final round of the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta.

Johnson continued his hot streak with a 6-under par 64 and now stands at 19-under par.

Sunday was also a good day for a pair of former Upstate college stars now playing professionally on men’s and women’s Tours.

Natalie Srinivasan and Corbin Mills each collected checks on the Symetra and Korn-Ferry Tour respectively.

Srinivasan, the 2020 consensus college player of the year, finished in 12th place at the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Indiana.

Srinivasan shot rounds of 72-72-71 for a 1-under par 215 total and a tie for 12th place.

The tournament was Srinivasan’s second on the LPGA sponsored Tour. She missed the cut in her first event at the Founders Tribute at Longbow last month.

Her finish earned her a check for $2,413.

Two other former Lady Paladin golfers were in the event. Taylor Totland finished in a tie for 18th place and Laura Wearn tied for 29th.

Mills accomplished something that is rarely done on the Korn-Ferry Tour, he earned a spot in Monday qualifying and then finished in 22nd to earn a check and a trip to the next Tour event.

Mills began the week shooting a 4-under par 68 in the Monday qualifying tournament.

He then had to survive a 3 for 2 playoff to get into the field at the Lincoln Land Championship in Springfield, Illinois.

Mills shot rounds of 67-70-70-66 for a 1-under par 273.

The tournament was won by Brett Drewitt at 19-under par.

Finishing in the top-25 on the Korn-Ferry Tour earns a golfer entry into the next event even if they don’t currently have status on the Tour.

Mills will have a chance to compete in the Evans Scholars Invitational at the Chicago Highlands Club near Chicago this week.

Mills won the 2011 US Public Links Championship while in school at Clemson. As a Tiger golfer, the Wren High School grad, won the 2011 Jerry Pate tournament before leaving school early to turn pro.

Mills left golf for a few years to work in his family’s business, but returned to play professionally last year.

He finished second in the First Stage qualifying tournament at The Landings Club in Savannah, however Mills fell a few shots short of advancing to the Final Stage.

There is no Korn-Ferry Qualifying school this year, so golfers status for the new season will be determined by tournament results.
