Dickson holds the lead, Revis closes in

Nelson Dickson followed up his outstanding opening round 7-under par 65 with a solid 4-under par 68 to keep the lead after 36 holes at the Greenville County Amateur.

A couple of new names have moved up the leader board and into contention for the final round at The Preserve at Verdae.

Lleyton Renner held on to second place by keeping pace with Dickson. The Presbyterian College golfer matched the leaders’ 4-under par 68 to stand at 9-under par, but is still 2-shots behind the leader.

The round of the day was turned in by Jeremy Revis. The 2002 Greenville County champion shot a 7-under par 65 to jump up five spots into third place.

Robbie Biershenk shot a 1-under 71 for fourth place while former champion Yancey Johnson and Doug Appleby are tied for fifth place at 2-under par.

The Senior championship appears to be headed to a two-man showdown in the final round on Sunday.

Bobby Hines padded his lead as his second round score was a shot better than his opening round total.

Hines shot a 1-under par 71 to lengthen his lead over Duff Wagner to 4-shots.

The next closest golfer to the two leaders is Ken Kirkland who is at 8-over par after the first two rounds.

The final round is set for Sunday, tee times were not yet available at the time of this posting. We will update when they become available.
