Christ Church Wins Fourth Straight Title

The Christ Church golf team won its fourth straight South Carolina High School League Class A title. The Cavaliers from Greenville won the tournament played at Cheraw State Park.

Christ Church started the final round with a nine shot lead over their cross town rival from St. Joseph’s. When all the scores were added up the Cavaliers had claimed a 14 shot victory.

The Cavaliers shot an opening round total 297 and improved to a 290 in the final round for a 587 total. St. Joseph’s finished at 611.

Medalist honors were won by Christian Baliker of St. Joseph’s. Baliker started the final round three shots behind Grant Sellers of McBee.

Baliker carded a final round 3-under par 69 to take a one stroke victory over Stephen Reynolds of Christ Church. Sellers finished in third place.

Christ Church golfers Harry Reynolds finished in fourth place while teammates Sumner Haney was seventh and Rafe Reynolds was ninth. Jack Wofford  finished in 17th place to help the Cavaliers win the title.
