Marley Felthousen is the first Converse golfer to be invited to play in the NCAA Division II championship.

Marley Felthousen’s final season playing golf at Converse College is going to go on a little longer. The Valkries golfer from Kitty Hawk, NC has been selected to play as an individual entrant at the NCAA Division II South Regional.

The Valkries senior will make Converse history when she tees off in the tournament to be played starting on May 8th at The Members Club at Woodcreek near Columbia. She is the first golfer in the short history of the Converse program to be selected to play in the NCAA championship post season.

Felthousen was honored as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year. During the season Felthousen won a tournament. She recorded five top-five finishes and only finished outside the top-ten in two of the teams eleven tournaments

Each super regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with 12 teams and 6 individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site.

The top three teams and the top three individuals not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Division II championship.

Siefert named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year

Marley Felthousen of Converse was named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Player of the Year. Zack Siefert of Limestone College was honored as both the men’s and women’s coach of the year in the conference.

Limestone College men’s and women’s coach Zack Siefert has been named the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year for both the men’s and women’s  programs.

Siefert, a former Clemson golfer, guided the Limestone men to their third straight Conference Carolinas championship while the Saints women’s team finished second in the conference.

This is the first time Siefert has won both of the conference coaching awards in the same season. Siefert has been honored as the men’s coach and as the women’s coach, but never in the same year until this season.

Siefert has been the head coach at Limestone for the last four years. By virtue of the Conference Carolinas championship the Saints will play in the past season at the NCAA Division II Regional in Muscle Shoals, Alabama starting on May 8th.
