The Anderson Trojans have the lead after the first round of the NCAA Division II National Championship in Gainesville, Georgia at the Chattahoochie Golf Club.

The Trojans own a 1-shot lead over Dallas Baptist, the top ranked team in the country.

The fourth ranked Trojans played in the afternoon wave and shot a 7-over par 295 total.

A well balanced team effort by Anderson helped take the lead. No Trojan golfer finished the first round higher than tenth.

Jessica Rathbone and Kennedy McGaha each shot rounds of 1-over par 73 to tie for 10th place.

Emma Charles birdied her two final holes to tie her two teammates in the 10th spot.

Third ranked Limestone, from Gaffney, is 12th after posting an opening round 19-over par 307 total.

After three rounds of stroke play, to crown an individual national champion, the top-teams will enter a Medal-Match Play tournament.

The Medal-Match Play formula is different than most Match Play. The winner of each hole is counted, but also the total strokes by every player.
