Cavaliers and Dixon win “The Jack” at Cross Creek

The Dorman Cavaliers added the team title at “The Jack” to their list of tournament championships this fall.

Dorman finished in front of Pickens by seven-shots to win their fourth tournament of the season.

The Cavaliers had already picked up plaques at The Rebel, The Palmetto Preview and The Lady Hurricane before adding the win at Cross Creek Plantation.

Madison Dixon from Boiling Springs was the tournament medalist shooting a 74 to finish two-shots in front of three golfers.

Ella Kate Burnett from Aynor, Natalie Turner from Pickens and Seneca’s Ansley Bryson all tied for second shooting rounds of 76.

Olivia Roberts from Chesnee, Abbie Franks from Dorman and Lindsay Cox from Blue Ridge made the All-Tournament team by finishing in a tie for fifth.

The Jack Team Totals – 1 Dorman 323, 2 Pickens 330, 3 Seneca 336, 4 Chesnee 357, 5 Boiling Springs 390, 6 Aynor 399, 7 Wade Hampton 445.

SC Golf Coaches High School Ranking

The first South Carolina Golf Coaches ranking of the top teams in the state was recently released.

The poll closely matches the early season tournament results with upstate teams on top of each of the classification top-10.

The SCHSL has announced there will be a separate Class AA – A Championship this year. In years past the AAA, AA and A tournaments were combined into one championship.

The dates for the other three state championships are set for October 24th and 25th.

The AAAAA championship will be played at Holly Tree Country Club .
