After pushing the Cranberry Classic back a week because of weather problems, the tournament was completed in a little different fashion when weather tried to be an issue for a second time.

With a sketchy forecast for Sunday, the second round, Boscobel officials had the full field play 27 holes on Saturday with the possibility it could be the last golf played in the tournament.

If the weather showed an opportunity to play, the field would finish the 36 hole tournament with 9 holes on Sunday.

After waiting out the weather in the morning the field finished the final nine holes starting around noon.

The team of Whitt Jefferson and Boscobel Club Champion Danny Day held a two shot lead over three teams in the championship flight.

In the final nine holes the team of Robbie and Nick Biershenk caught the first round leaders and forced a playoff.

Both teams birdied the first playoff hole, but on the second try to crown a winner the Biershenk’s used their length off the tee to set up a short eagle putt on the ninth hole for the win.

When the six footer went in the brothers had their second team win. Robbie and Nick also won the Fall Two Man championship played at Three Pines Country Club in Woodruff.

Third place in the championship flight went to the team of Thomas Nielson and Ben Cox.

Flight winners included: First Flight – Scott Pitts and Shawn Moore, Second Flight – Bo Upton and Walker Redman, Third Flight – Dylan Hamilton/Nathan Guyer, Fourth Flight – Mitchell Nidiffer/Dalton Sharp, Fifth Flight – Jimmy Wilson/Lee Rainey.
