Clemson and USC advance to NCAA Finals

The goal was to be in the top-five, a win would be nice, but not necessary to be playing in the NCAA National Championship,

Both Clemson and South Carolina played their way into the Finals to be played May 17-22 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

#2 ranked South Carolina hung on to tie for fourth in the Auburn Regional. The Gamecocks tied with Tulsa at 27-over par.

Clemson shot an even par third round to comfortably advance to the finals for the second straight year.

The Tigers posted a 4-underpar total for the 54 hole regional tournament. Clemson tied SMU for second place four shots behind the Region champions from LSU..

Ingrid Lindblum from LSU finished on top of the individual standings with Clemson’s Annabelle Pancake finishing second,

South Carolina’s top performer was Louise Rydqvist who finished tied for second place in the Auburn Regional.

Furman’s Anna Morgan faced some long odds playing as an individual and needing to be the top finisher not on an advancing team in order to keep her season going,

Morgan finished 21st while her teammate Audrey Ryu finished in a tie for 46th.

Other South Carolina teams and players were unable to advance from their regional.
