A pair of Dorman High School golfers, who have two of the biggest individual wins this year, have helped the Cavaliers tie Chapin for the first round lead at the South Carolina High School League AAAAA championship.

Will Ruth, who won the most recent Southern Cross individual championship shot a 3-under par 69 and his teammate Casey Kosney, the winner of the boys title at the Morgan Lucas Junior, carded a 1-under par 71 to lead the Cavaliers into a tie with Chapin.
The Eagles were led by the individual co-leader, Chase Cline, who tied Ruth at 3-under par.
Dorman and Chapin each posted team scores of 9-over par.
The defending champions from TL Hanna is in third after shooting 14-over par round of 302. The Yellow Jackets Eric Erlenkeuser is alone in third place after carding a 2-under par 70.
The top-five teams in the championship being played at The Country Club of Lexington are: 1) Tie Dorman and Chapin +9 293, 3) Hanna +14 302, 4) Lexington +21 309, 5) Boiling Springs +23 311.

Top AAAAA Individuals
AC Flora leads the first round at the AAAA Championship
The top ranked AAAA team in South Carolina is in charge at the AAAA Championship being played at Rose Hill Golf Club near Hilton Head.
Flora has a 6-shot lead over the defending champions from North Augusta, with Eastside in third place.
Greenville stands in fourth place with Indian Land in fifth going into the final round.
Flora’s Thomas Lamar has the individual lead at 2-under par with four golfers one shot back after the first round.

Wren leads AAA Championship
At the 3A tournament at Coastal Carolina’s Hackler Course, Wren leads the way in the team standings with a 301 after one round of play.
Dylan Park turned in a one-under 71, while Hampton Yarborough fired a 72 for the Hurricanes. Davis Merritt shot 78, while Eli Clevenger and Garrett Gillespie each shot 80.
Blue Ridge is hot on the heels of the Hurricanes, in second place at 303, and Dawson Szabo is a big part of the reason why.
The defending Blade Junior champion shot a sizzling 68 on Monday to take the tournament’s individual lead. Owen Kinnunan shot 74, Benjamin Brown had a 78, and Ryder Seppala shot 83 for the Tigers.
Gilbert is third at 309, paced by Finn Mortensen’s 73 and Vinny Esposito’s 75. Philip Simmons’ Hudson Hatch joined Park and Szabo as the only golfers under par on Monday, shooting a 71 to lead the Iron Horses to fourth place at 314, one shot ahead of fifth-place Beaufort.
Daniel (322), Camden (325), Powdersville (332), Hanahan (333), and Waccamaw (335) round out the Top 10.
Chapman’s Will McCraw leads the individual qualifiers, shooting a first-round 77.
