Tournament begins Thursday at Thornblade and Carolina Country Club
The field for the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD Synnex features two standout local golfers—both Korn Ferry Tour winners—bringing momentum to the Upstate.

Trace Crowe, a native of Easley, played on top-ranked Easley High School teams before continuing his career at Auburn University.

Bryson Nimmer, from Bluffton, starred at Clemson University, finishing as one of the most accomplished golfers in Tiger history.
Nimmer recently won the Korn Ferry Tour’s Tulum Championship, boosting him into the top 20 on the Korn Ferry points list.
Crowe wins in Raleigh
Crowe claimed victory this past weekend in his new hometown of Raleigh, posting rounds of 68-62-64-65 for a record-setting 21-under-par finish at the UNC Health Championship. The former Green Wave standout secured a dominant five-shot victory—the largest margin on the Korn Ferry Tour this season.
Crowe took the lead after the third round and never looked back.
“I felt really comfortable and surprisingly calm today,” Crowe said.
He now lives on the course where the tournament was held.
“Today I woke up, played with my dog, had some coffee with my wife, and came out here and got off to a good start.”
He birdied the first hole and built a five shot lead by the end of the round.
“My good start calmed the nerves. Having everyone out here supporting me feels great. Traveling and doing this for a living can get pretty lonely, so to have everyone here—and to win—is just unbelievable,” he added.
After earning conditional PGA Tour status following the 2024 Fall season, Crowe’s win on the Korn Ferry Tour is part of an impressive run. It marked his fifth consecutive top-25 finish and third top-10 in eight starts this season. He now ranks fifth in the season-long points race. A top-20 finish would secure him full PGA Tour status for next year.
“I’m so excited to get this one done. This one had been circled all year. This was basically my home event. I mean, South Carolina (BMW) would be my home event, but it’s nice to have two in a row like this,” he concluded.
In addition to Nimmer and Crowe, several other players with local ties will compete at Thornblade Club and Carolina Country Club for the opening rounds, hoping to reach the final rounds at Thornblade on the weekend.
Notable entries include:

- Bill Haas of Greenville, 2015 FedEx Cup Champion, playing on a sponsor’s exemption.
- Jonathan Byrd, a five-time PGA Tour winner and former Clemson standout.
- Doc Redman, 2017 U.S. Amateur Champion.
- William Nottingham and Billy Kennerly, both Clemson alumni.
South Carolina will also be represented by Ryan Hall, Greenville’s Keenan Huskey, and Matt NeSmith, the 2015 SEC individual champion.
Other golfers with local ties include:
- Wofford grad William McGirt
- Former Georgia All-American Trent Phillips from Inman
- Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey of Bishopville
- West Point graduate Marcus Plunkett, now living in the Upstate
Practice rounds are scheduled at both Thornblade Club and Carolina Country Club early in the week, with tournament play beginning Thursday at both venues.
Tee times and celebrity pairings are usually released on the Wednesday of tournament week.
