2026 South Carolina High School Championship Review

Medals and Memories

A trip to Myrtle Beach is something golfers always look forward to, and for many South Carolina high school players, the opportunity to compete for a state championship on some of the Grand Strand’s premier courses made the experience even more memorable.

Four of the six South Carolina High School League classifications held their championships in and around Myrtle Beach this spring. The move created an atmosphere that felt bigger than a typical championship tournament and offered a glimpse of what the future of high school golf in South Carolina could become.

Whether Myrtle Beach becomes the permanent home of the championships remains to be seen. The answer will depend on the continued cooperation of the South Carolina High School League, the South Carolina Golf Coaches Association, the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and the many people who have helped make Myrtle Beach one of the nation’s premier golf destinations.

At SCGolfClub.com, we wanted to preserve the stories, performances and memories that made this year’s championships special.

In the June issue of The Golf Club, we published a special pull-out section devoted to the state championships. If you missed that edition, you can download a PDF copy of the section below.

You can also explore our expanded online coverage by entering the Medals and Memories special section, where you’ll find championship stories, player features, photos and additional coverage from Myrtle Beach.

Parents, players, coaches and fans are invited to share the links and revisit the championship season.” It subtly encourages sharing
