Trent Phillips of Inman was one of three juniors to qualify for the US Junior Amateur. Phillips shot rounds of 68 and 74 for a two day total of 2-under par.
The qualifying tournament was played at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, NC.
The US Junior Amateur will be played at Colleton River Plantation in Bluffton starting on July 20th.
Also making the field was the qualifying tournament medalist Tyler Strafaci of Davie, Florida who shot identical rounds of 69 to finish at 6-under par.
The third place finisher was Michael Sanders of Davidson, North Carolina who shot a final round 67 to jump over a half dozen golfers and earn a trip to the national tournament.
