He recently finished as the runner-up in the CGA SC Match Play championship.
The Covid-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of US Amateur qualifying tournaments around the country. Instead the USGA offered invitations to golfers based on the World Golf Amateur Rankings and some special exemptions.

The field for the tournament will include 264 golfers, however many golfers from outside the United States may not be able to play.
The pandemic has caused a number of the top amateurs in the world to be unable to accept an invitation to compete because of travel issues.
Additional golfers may be selected to complete the field.
The US Amateur will be played at the Bandon Dunes Golf Club August 10th to the 16th.
Former Clemson All-American Corbin Mills won the 2011 USGA Public Links Championship at the course.
