Granger Amick broke out of a first round tie with Gage Howard to go on to win the Spartanburg County Junior Amateur played at The Country Club of Spartanburg.
Madison Dixon made her first round lead stand-up to claim the Spartanburg County Girls Championship at the same course.
Both of the leaders in the boys championship got off to shaky starts in the final round. Amick bogeyed the first hole while Howard carded an 8 to fall 3-shots off the lead.
Howard was able to shave a shot off Amick’s lead by the turn.
He had a good chance to cut it down by another stroke when he birdied number 13, but Amick matched the birdie to keep the lead at 2-shots.
A bogey on number 16 by the leader cut his margin to 1-shot, but Amick and Howard both parred the last two holes to leave Amick with a 1-shot win and the Spartanburg County title.
Davis Ross, Davis Hill and James Fulmer rounded out the top-five in the championship.
The boys 7-9 year old division played 18 holes over two days. Rilen Kozic won the Cherokee County title while Will Miller won the Spartanburg County title.
Matthew Roff won the Spartanburg County Boys 10-12 year old age group title by 2-shots over Will McCraw. The division also played an 18 hole tournament.
Dixon opened the the girls championship with a 6-over par 77 and shot a second round 78 for a 2-day total of 155 and a 6-shot win.
Maddie Peake’s final round 77 earned her a runner-up finish in front of Olivia Ireland.
The girls 7-9 year old division was won by Maya Sarstrand and the 10-12 year old championship was won by Elin Sarstrand.
The tournament is presented by First Tee Upstate and all Spartanburg County Championships are sponsored by Delaney’s Irish Pub, Michelob Ultra, RJ Rockers Brewing Company and Langers.
