Pellerin and Magera lead Greenville Junior

A large field of junior golfers in Greenville are competing for the County Championship at Holly Tree.

After the first round Olivia Pellerin has the lead in the Girls 13-18 year old Division, while Jack Magera leads the 15-18 year old Boys Division.

Pellerin finished her first round with a birdie to card a 3-over par 75 and hold a 1 shot lead going into the final round.

Kamryn Williams is one shot behind the leader in second place with Delia Parker is in third place.

Magera also shot a 3-over par 75 in the boys division and has a 2-shot lead.

Joey Clary, Cooper Bolt and Sam Norris are all tied for second after shooting opening rounds of 75.

In the Boys 13-14 year old Division last year’s overall Greenville County champion has the Division lead and could be in line to repeat as the overall champion.

Boys in the 13-14 Divison and the 15-18 Division both play from the same tees so a younger player could win the overall junior boys championship.

Faulkner shot a 4-under par 68 to lead the Division by 7 shots going into the final round. His first round score puts him well ahead of the boys in either age Division for the overall championship.

Tyler Burger is in second place at 3-over par followed by Glenn Oxner in third place.

The boys and girls in the youngest divisions play nine holes for each round.

In the Boys 10-12 year old Division, Thomas DeMint got off to a good start and took the first round lead.

DeMint birdie his first 2-holes and finished his 9-hole first round at 3-under par 33.

Benjamin Brown is in second place after shooting a 2-over par 38.

In the Boys 7-9 year old Division, Cullen Beck leads after shooting a 3-over par 39.

Miles Jacobs is in second place 3-shots behind the leader.

The final round is scheduled to begin play at10:am.
