On moving day at the Greenville and Spartanburg County championships, 5-under par was a popular score.
In Greenville a pair of 5-under par rounds at Fox Run pushed two former champions to the top of the leader board.
In Spartanburg a 5-under par round helped the 2022 SCGA Junior Player of the Year work his way to the top spot at the Carolina Country Club.
Brock takes the lead in Greenville
Danny Brock, the 2018 Greenville County Amateur champion, shot a 5-under par 67 to take the lead after 36 holes at Fox Run.
Brock added the 5-under par round to his opening round of 3-unnder par 69 for a 136 total and a one shot lead.
Defending champion Garland Farrell also posted a 5-under par round and he is now 1-shot behind Brock going into the final round on Sunday.
First round leader Zander Briggs shot an opening round 7-under par 65, but in the second round he had to settle for an even par round of 72 and a tie for second with Ferrell.
In the Senior Championship being played within the County Amateur, Yancey Johnson has pulled away from the field to take a comfortable 4-shot lead into the final round.
Johnson shot a 7-under par 65 to move to 12 under par for the championship.
Todd Hendley remained in second place, but dropped a few more shots behind the leader.
The leaders will tee off at 10:00 at Fox Run

Gregory takes the lead in Spartanburg

Andrew Gregory is back from the USGA Junior championship were the future Liberty University golfer finished second in the stroke play qualifier.
His good play continued at the Spartanburg Am with a second round 5-under par round at the Carolina Country Club.
Gregory opened the tournament with a 3-under par 69 and with his second round 67 now has a 2- shot lead going into the final round on Sunday.
Andrew Hall shot a 1-under par 71 to tie Josh Gallman for second place.
Gallman posted a 4-under par 68 for his two-day total of 138.
Davis West shot a 4-under 68 to move into fourth place, a shot in front of Brad Thorne and first round leader Zach Phillips with 140 totals.
The leaders will start their final round at 1:50 at Carolina.
