Twin wins for South Carolina Juniors

South Carolina Junior golfers had a very successful weekend winning challenge matches over foes from Georgia and Canada.

South Carolina won the annual challenge match with Georgia at the Savannah Golf Club

The match brings top teams from both states together for two days of matches. The competition crowns an individual champion, a team champion and a state champion.

The two time Georgia state high school champions from Milton finished as the top team with South Carolina’s defending AAAAA champion TL Hanna finishing second.

Individually a pair of Chapin golfers tied for medalist honors and went into a sudden-death playoff for the top spot

Chase Cline and James Harrison shot two-day totals of 1-under par 143 to set up the playoff.

Harrison won the playoff and medalist honors with an eagle on the playoff hole.

The win by the South Carolina squad evened the long running series with each state claiming 10 wins with one match ending in a tie.
