The Clemson Tiger have started the ACC Championship right where they left off last year, in the lead.

Clemson opened the stroke play portion of the championship, carding a 10-under par round of 278 to lead Wake Forest by 2 shots.

The Tigers are well represented at the top of the leader board.

Isabella Rawl closed out her first round with a flurry of birdies to be in the lead.

Rawl, who last year as a freshman put the winning point on the scoreboard to give the Tigers the match play victory, closed out her round with three birdies on her last four holes to finish at 5-under par.

Rawl has a two shot lead over teammate Chloe Holder and six other golfers.

Annabelle Pancake shot a 2-under par round of 70 to be in a large group of golfers tied for ninth.

The fourth first round counting score was turned in by Sydney Roberts, who held the individual lead for a time in the first round before finishing at even par.

The teams will play two more rounds of stroke play to crown an individual champion and set the field for the Match Play Championship.

Virginia, North Carolina and Virginia Tech are all tied for third place.

The tournament is being played at the Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, NC.
