The NCAA Women’s Regional play begins at six locations on May 6th. The men will begin their Region play on May 13th.
Five teams and the top individual not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

When the Clemson Tigers tee it up in the Bryan, Texas NCAA Regional as the third seed, they hope there will be enough daylight to complete the tournament.
The Tigers were victims of evening darkness when they fell to Wake Forest in the ACC Championship.
The defending champions trailed the Deacons in a very close match when league officials stopped play and went to the rule book to award Wake Forest the championship, because of darkness.
“The way things ended (without technically finishing the matches) has our girls hungry for more and carrying a little edge headed into NCAAs,” said Clemson coach Kelley Hester. “ I believe that will serve us well as we have our eyes on more match play and a possible rematch with Wake Forest as they look to defend their NCAA Championship,” said the coach.
Last year Clemson advanced to the NCAA Finals, but missed out on Match Play making advancing to the championship final the goal for this year.
“At every regional you need to play solid golf to advance. Our team knows what that looks like and we have had consistent showings all year. Last year, our girls weren’t quite mentally prepared for what the NCAA Finals entail. They know we have unfinished business and want to improve on last year and have a better idea of what that looks like now,” noted Hester.

South Carolina women’s team earned the highest seed while the Clemson men’s team continued one of the longest post season streaks in the country as Palmetto State teams earned the opportunity to play for an NCAA Championship.
South Carolina ended the regular season as the second ranked women’s team in the country and is the top seed in the Auburn Regional,
Gamecock coach Kaylen Anderson was named the SEC coach of the year, It was the fourth time Anderson has won the award.
Last year South Carolina made the Match Play championship round but was knocked out of the tournament by the other USC (Southern Cal) in the first round.

The Clemson men’s team will play in its 42nd consecutive NCAA Regional tournament.
The Tigers will be the 10th seed in the Regional played on the Regions top seed North Carolina’s Finley Golf Course.
Clemson has a difficult draw as four of the top 25 teams in the country are in the regional and only the top-five teams will advance to the men’s final at the Omni LaCosta Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California,

The Lady Paladins missed out on winning the automatic qualifying spot for the Southern Conference, but record setting senior Anna Morgan will be in the tournament.
Morgan won her second straight SOCON individual championship and qualifies for the Regional as a conference champion.
Two years ago, Morgan advanced to the championship and finished ninth.
The Gamecock men’s team is also the tenth seed in the regional to be played in Baton Rouge with SEC foe Auburn holding the top seed.

Winthrop will be making their first appearance in an NCAA Regional.
Coach Kevin Pendley’s Eagles defeated Gardner-Webb in the Big South Match Play final to earn the conference’s automatic invitation.
Winthrop is the 14th seed in the Rancho Santa Fe, California NCAA Regional.
The Charleston Southern Women’s team plays in the Bermuda Run Regional hosted by defending NCAA Champion Wake Forest.
The College of Charleston men’s team will play in the Regional at Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Three individual golfers from state teams will play in an NCAA Regional tournament. The only way an individual can advance to the finals is to be the highest finishing golfer, not on an advancing team.
Southern Conference freshman of the year, Audrey Ryu from Furman will join Morgan in the Auburn Region.
Charleston’s Viktoria Hund will also compete as an individual in the Auburn Regional.’
