Lady Paladins and Harford win at the Brickyard

The 8th ranked Lady Paladins of Furman won their third tournament title of the year with a 4-shot victory over Texas A&M at The Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, GA.

Furman was led by Haylee Harford who finished as co-medalist in the tournament. Harford was 3-under par for a 213 total to finish in a tie with Loy Hee Ying of East Tennessee State.
This was the third tournament that Harford, who is ranked 38th in the Golfweek Poll,  has finished as a co-medalist this season.
The Furman sophomore won the season opening event at the Minnesota Invitational. She also was on top of the leader board at the finish of the Puerto Rico Classic.
In addition to the three wins Harford has two other top-10 finishes and is ranked #34 in the Golfstat individual rankings.
The Lady Paladins held a 3-shot lead going into the final round on Tuesday. Furman shot a 295 total in the last round. Augusta University had the best final round of the day shooting a 290 total to finish in a tie with Texas A&M for second place.

Furman placed three golfers in the top-20 at the Macon tournament. Reona Hirai finished in a tie for 11th and freshman Carly Burkhardt was tied for 14th at the finish.

The Lady Paladins are next in action when they try to win their third straight Southern Conference Championship. The SoCon women’s championship will be played at The Country Club of Lexington near Columbia. The tournament begins on Sunday April 23rd and the final round is scheduled for April 25th.
