The Wren Hurricanes blew through the field at the Hurricane Invitational played at Southern Oaks in Easley.
The host team shot a two day total of 607 to win the tournament by a convincing margin.
Wren has been ranked just behind the perennial defending AAA now AAAA state champions from Flora in Columbia.
The tournament at Southern Oaks included 20 teams. The Hurricane finished 23 shots in front of runner-up Ninety Six. Mauldin was third with Pickens in fourth place and J.L. Mann finishing fifth.
The top individual in the tournament was Levi Moody of Travelers Rest. Moody shot the best round of the tournament posting a final day 1-under par 71. The Devil Dog golfer finished with a 146 total to win the tournament by one shot.
The future Wofford College golfer needed a strong final round to hold off the charge made by Wren’s Tanner Pilgrim and Rhett Merritt.
Pilgrim finished with a final round 74 and ended up 1-stroke behind the tournament winner.
Merritt finished another shot back in third place. Colt Martin of Pendleton finished in fourth place, just three shots off the winner’s total.
In addition to Pilgrim and Merritt the other members of the winning team included, Pilgrim, Merritt, Brandon Masters, Will Seffrin and Palmer Mills.
