Phillips, Bridgeman on Jr. Presidents Cup team

Jacob Bridgeman and Trent Phillips have been named to the Junior President’s Cup team. The two Woodfin Ridge golfers are both South Carolina High School champions.

Trent Phillips and Jacob Bridgeman will have another golf date to put on their fall schedule.

The two Inman golfers have been named to the Junior President’s Cup team.

This is the first year of the tournament which will follow the same format as the President’s Cup for the professionals.

A team of 12 players from the US will take on a team from the rest of the world excluding Europe.

The matches will be played at Plainfield Country Club in Edisen, NJ.

Participants for both teams must be at least 12 years old by the start of the tournament and must have not reached their 19th birthday or have yet graduated high school as of January 1, 2017.

Additionally, participants must be amateurs who have not yet started college and are not members of a competitive collegiate golf program in order to be eligible to play in the Junior Presidents Cup.

The US team was selected using the AJGA Rolex rankings.

Phillips is a future Georgia golfer who is a two-time SCGA Junior Champion.

Bridgeman is a future Clemson golfer who is a two-time South Carolina AAA High School champion. He recently won The Blade Junior at Thornblade Club in Greer.

The two young golfers just completed play in the PGA Junior Championship. Phillips finished third while Bridgeman finished sixth.
