
The Boiling Springs Bulldogs won the Palmetto High School Invitational at Myrtle Beach. Team members included Harrison Corbin, Graham Corbin, Trent Phillips, Zack Phillips, Cole Hair and coach Josh Pruitt.
Trent Phillips set a tournament record 7-under 63 in the first round at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. He backed the sensational round up with a 1-under par 71 at True Blue to win the Palmetto High School Invitational championship.
Phillips and teammate Harrison Corbin led the Boiling Springs team to a convincing 14 shot victory in the tournament featuring top high school teams from the Carolinas and Georgia.
The Bulldogs shot a two day total of 570 to top Frederica Academy for the championship.

Trent Phillips set a tournament record when he shot a 7-under par 63. He went on to win the individual title by three shots over teammate Harrison Corbin.
Phillips opening round 63 was a new tournament record. He made seven birdies without a bogey and counted a birdie on the demanding 18th hole at Caledonia.
The Bulldog senior’s second round 71 gave the future Georgia golfer a 3 shot victory over Corbin and Brandon Einstein from Forsyth Country Day.
The Palmetto is a 54-hole, college style event that began on Thursday with a qualifying round. Based on qualifying scores, teams were flighted for 36 holes of stroke play competition.
The Bulldogs are the defending state AAAAA South Carolina High School champions. Phillips is the defending individual state champion and ranked fifth among all juniors in the country.
