Nimmer tied for the lead at NCAA final

The first round of the NCAA Finals in Stillwater, Oklahoma ran out of daylight with about half the field still on the Karsten Creek golf course.

While his round is only half over Bryson Nimmer will be sleeping on a share of the lead. The Clemson junior has played 10 holes and is at 5-under par.

Nimmer is tied with two golfers who have finished their rounds. Shintaro Ban from UNLV and Ryan Lumsden from Northwestern completed their rounds and are also at 5-under par 67.

Nimmer’s card shows five-birdies and no bogeys with eight holes to finish his round.

US Amateur champion Doc Redman has also got an under par round going for him. Redman stands at 2-under par in a tie for 17th place with the back nine left to play.

As a team the Tigers have made the turn and are on the back nine holes. The team is in a sixth place tie with Vanderbilt at 1-under par. Both teams will finish their rounds before starting the second round on Saturday morning.

Northwestern is the lead in the clubhouse. The Wildcats completed their round and posted an 8-under par 280 total.
