An almost four hour afternoon weather delay prevented the first round of the Greenville County Amateur at Holly Tree from being completed.
The morning wave had finished and the afternoon groupings got started when lightning caused golfers to leave the course at about 1:30.
The round was suspended because of darkness at 8:45.
Among the golfers that completed play two are tied for the lead.
Jimmy McCollum and Connor Blackwelder each shot rounds of 3-under par 69.
Lleyton Renner is one shot back at 2-under par 70.
Russ Gillig, Bo Ream and Jack Wofford are tied for fourth place.
83 golfers finished the first round. The golfers who did not finish will need to be in place to restart their rounds at 7:45 Saturday morning.
After all golfers finish the round the second round will being. Approximately one hour should be added to the tee times published at http://www.upstategolfclub.com.
