Jonathan Griz is on top of the leader board for the second day in a row at the SCGA Amateur championship.

And for the second day in a row bad weather forced play to be suspended before the round could be completed at the Columbia Country Club.

Griz held the overnight lead at 4-under par in the weather plagued first round. Only half the field was able to complete their first 18 holes.

The second day got off to a good start with the completion of the first round.

When all golfers finished their first 18 holes, Griz’s 4-under 68 was matched by Ryan Reynolds from Camden.

Evans Lewis from Sumter and Barnwell’s Kyle Bearden were tied for second at 3-under par 69.

Weather would again be a problem for the afternoon wave.

Griz again had the best score when play was suspended in the round.

The 16 year old from Hilton Head got to 5-under par by the 12th hole.  He was at 9-under par for the tournament when play was stopped because of weather, again.

Griz holds a 1-shot lead over Christian Salzer from Sumter who finished 16 holes.

Two shots back are defending champion Tyler Gray from Lugoff, who finished 16- holes and Evan Lewis from Sumter who completed 10-holes.

Presbyterian College sophomore Jimmy McCollum shares the clubhouse lead at 5-under par. Over 30 golfers must complete a rain delayed second round on Saturday. (GolfClub File Photo)

Presbyterian College golfer Jimmy McCollum and Jason Steiner from Sumter have completed their rounds and hold the clubhouse lead at 5-under par for 36 holes.

Saturday will start with about 34 golfers finishing the second round.

After the round the cut will be made to the low 60 golfers and ties who will then begin third round play.

The projected cut is expected to be around 5-over par 149.
