Fields are set for Upper and Lower State girls qualifying

The girls will be on the tee at golf courses around the state on Monday. October 17th to compete for the opportunity to play in their classification’s state championships.

SCHSL AA State Championship October 17-18th Cheraw State Park

The team members are different this year but Class AA Chesnee won the AAA -AA – A Championship last year. This year the SCHSL has a stand alone Class AA Championship and the Eagles will try to win back to back state titles in the championship that begins on October 17th at Cheraw State Park. The teams playing in the AA classification will actually be competing for their championship starting on the same date.

The classification only recently was split off from the AAA bracket and will crown a state AA champion for the first time since 2015, the last time the South Carolina High School League sanctioned a championship for the classification.AA

Upper and Lower State Qualifying Tournaments

Here are the teams and individuals who have qualified to compete in the Upper and Lower state qualifying tournament.

The qualifying tournaments around the state do not provide medals or a trophy to the top golfers and teams, instead the only thing teams and golfers can win is the opportunity to keep playing.

A special thanks to the tournament hosts, Brandon Smith, Lem Blackwell, Christopher Wegmann, Thomas Bell, Patrick Wilkinson and Randy Cisson. for sending along the information so the teams and players competing next week can be recognized for having a good year and advancing to the semi-finals.

We will fill in the missing brackets as they are received over the weekend.

Upper State AAAAA Qualifying Field

Chester Country Club Range Opens at 7:30 First Tee Times 8:30 Top 8 teams and 4 individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the state championship on October 24th at Holly Tree Country Club in Mauldin.

The Links at Stono Ferry (Hollywood) Range Opens 8:00 am Tee Times 9:00 am Top 8 teams and 4 individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the state championship on October 24th at Holly Tree Country Club in Mauldin.
