Individually Clemson owns three of the first five places on the leader board.

Savannah Grewal is the individual leader after shooting an opening round 4-under par 68.

Annabelle Pancake, who was the runner-up in Clemson’s last tournament , The Clover Cup, shot a 3-under par 69 to be tied with freshman teammate Sydney Roberts and Virginia Tech’s Morgan Ketchum and Crystal Wang from Illinois for second

The Tigers lead might have been even bigger if Roberts had been playing as part of the team rather than as an individual entrant.

Roberts and Rawl both won high school championships in the Palmetto State, one other golfer in the field also was a South Carolina High School champion.

Furman opened the tournament in 15th place with the Lady Paladins’ top player Anne Morgan tied for 30th.

The tournament schedule has changed due to the expectation of bad weather on Saturday morning,

Instead of tee times, all golfers will begin play at 1 pm using a shotgun start.
