Wow, Jackson shoots 63 to lead at Mountain Park

It took Sam Jackson a few holes to get going in the second round of the Carolinas Golf Association Mid-Am championship, but when he did, he was going,

The 2022 SCGA Player of the Year started with three pars before carding an eagle on his fourth hole and then went on to birdie half of his remaining holes without making a bogey.

The West Columbia golfer finished with a 9-under par 63 to go along with his first round 5-under par 67 to move up three spots into the lead.

Jackson now has a 5-shot lead over the field at 14-under par.

First round leader Harrison Rhoades from Raleigh, fired a 3-under par 69 to finish 36 holes tied with William Buchanan from Greensboro and Jamie Lightsey form Indian Land for second.

There are 21 golfers who have finished the first two rounds under par at The Cliffs at Mountain Park,

The cut for the final round was made at 7-over par as 60 golfers will play on Saturday.
