Tuesday’s outstanding round moved Clemson up to the third spot, two shots behind the Aggies and two-shots in front of Southern Cal.

In the first round Melena Barrientos led the Tigers with a 5-under par 67.

In the second round, she shot a 1-under par 71 to finish in a tie for eighth place, but Clemson did not have to use her score because the other four Tigers shot lower.

Savannah Grewal was 4-under par, Annabelle Pancake and Isabella Rawl each shot 3-under par and Chloe Holder was 2-under par for the Tigers 276 total.

Clemson will play the final round with the two teams in front of them. The Tigers will be grouped with Stanford and Texas A&M.

Anna Morgan held the first round lead, but lost ground to Georgia’s Jenny Bae on the second day of the Athens Regional.

Morgan carded a solid even par round to stay at 4-under par.

Bae, playing on her home course, shot a 5-under par round to take the lead.

The Lady Paladins also lost some ground in the race to finish in the top-5. Furman is now tied for 8th place, seven-shots out of last place to advance to the championship.

Last year Morgan qualified for the national championship as an individual. This year the NCAA has reduced the number of individuals advancing form each region to just one golfer from a non-advancing team.

As the leader board stands after the second round Morgan leads in the race for the one individual spot, but several golfers whose teams are on the cut line are within a shot or two of the Furman golfer.

Anderson holds second place at the NCAA DII South Regional

The Trojans held on to second place at the NCAA DII South Regional.

Not all the teams were able to finish their round because of weather issues, but the top five teams are in place for the final round.

Anderson trails Lynn University by 8 shots, but looks to be in good position to secure on of the six tickets out of the region to the national championship.

Jessica Rathbone is the top Trojan in the field. After two rounds she is tied for 8th place.

Six teams will have to complete their round early Wednesday morning.
