Casey Cosney has played a lot of golf last week and had to do some traveling to be on the right tee at the right time
The Dorman High School senior was part of the South Carolina Watson Cup team, that played their match with a team from Scotland on Thursday and Friday at Yeamans Hall near Charleston..

After helping the South Carolina team get a win he came back to the upstate and was on the first tee at the Henry Transou Memorial at 10:30 Saturday morning.
Kosney, might have been running on fumes, but his 3-under par 69 gave him a 1 shot lead over three other golfers.
“It was a pretty clean round, no mistakes,” said Kosney. “Really no trouble, it was just a good clean round and I played pretty well.” said Kosney.
The future University of Colorado golfer was the runner-up last year in the event, and while his well played first round gave him the lead, he didn’t get far enough ahead to phone it in on Sunday.
“There were too many good players here. I saw some of them had got to four or five under at timed to four or dive under at times in their rounds so I know I had to play well to stay on top,” said Kosney.
he said.
With Danny Price, Cameron Addis and Kingston Linder all just a shot behind at the start of the second round Kosney found his second day was a little more intense than the first round.

While the second round was more eventful, it hardly showed up on the scorecard.
Kosney opened the final round with a birdie, helping him pad his lead. He made the turn at 2 under par and then the boring part of his round was on the back nine.
“I had the lead and just wanted to finish. I made eight pars at one point and was just playing steady,” he said.
Kosney added a 1-under par 71 to his first round 69 for a 140 total and a three shot winning margin over Owen Kinnunen from Blue Ridge High School.
Behind the top two was Ben Smith in third place. Cal Harbin in fourth and Reed Cook rounding out the top-five.
“I had a great time with my partner Dawson Szabo at the Watson Cup, we destroyed a couple of their teams and coming back home to win this tournament was a lot of fun,” said the winner.
The Transou Memorial, not being referred to by most players as “The Henry” also awards championships in several age group divisions.
In the Sub Junior Division (Boys 12-under) Davin Kozic won the age group title.
In the Junior Boys Division, Reed Cook finished two shots in front of Ty Childers for the 13-15 year old title.
