ACC Freshman of the Year Doc Redman won the USGA Amateur qualifying tournament at Carolina Trace in Sanford, NC.
The rising sophomore at Clemson shot rounds of 68 and 71 for a 5-under par 139 total.
His 36 hole score was one shot better than Eric Bae and Josh Martin to win medalist honors and a trip to the US Amateur in August.
Bae, who plays college golf at Wake Forest topped Martin for the second spot with birdie on the first playoff hole.
Redman will play in the US Amateur at Riviera Country Club near Los Angeles starting on August 14th.
