Interview with the 2018 SCGA Junior champion

 

Daniel Azallion won the SCGA Junior Championship at the Dataw Island Club.

Daniel Azallion won the 2018 SCGA Junior Championship at the Dataw Island Club on Wednesday. The Hilton Head golfer opened the tournament with the lead shooting a first round 7-under par 65.

His second round put him two strokes behind the leaders going into the final round.

The future Virginia Tech golfer finished off the championship with a 4-under par 68 to claim a two shot victory.

With the win Azallion qualifies for several important tournaments in the future.

The new junior champion has a spot in the Bobby Chapman Junior played at the Spartanburg Country Club in October.

He will also be invited to play in the prestigious Sage Valley Junior next spring. He joins the top seven golfers from the SCGA Junior to be part of the team to play Georgia in the annual cross state matches.

The other juniors to make the Georgia-South Carolina Cup team are Connor Fahey, Trey Crenshaw, Seth Taylor, Dillon Hite, Brandon Masters, Keegan Vaugh and Drayton Stewart.

Following the round Azallion talked about his victory.
