Smithfields professional Coby Gambrell congratulates the Easley Green Wave for winning the Region I AAAA title.
Easley once was among the most dominant high school golf programs in the upstate and it looks like the Green Wave may be on their way back.
Playing at Smithfields Easley won the region 1 4A championship with a score of 330.
The Green Wave was led by medalist Colton Evatt who shot a 75 to take the top spot in the individual competition. In addition to being the medalist Evatt was named the player of the year in the region.
Coltan Evatt from Easley was medalist and Player of the Year in Region I AAAA.
The all region team included 5th place Jack Williams (Walhalla) 83, Tied for 3rd place Andreas Rollins (Travelers Rest) 81, Jace Danbom (Easley) 81, 2nd place Sean David League (Travelers Rest) 78, and Evatt (Easley) 75.Easley’s coach Aaron Daniel was named coach of the year.

Hillcrest finished in front of the 4th ranked Mauldin Mavericks for Region II AAAAA championship
The Rams Cameron Baldwin topped Mauldin’s Major Lenning in a playoff for medalist honors.
