
If Furman’s Anna Morgan hopes to play in the NCAA Finals she has to be one of the top-three finishers, who is not on an advancing team, at the South Regional in Louisville.
Based on first round scores Morgan has the lowest score of the individual participants.
Morgan shot an opening round 1-under par 71 to be tied with 5-other golfers for the fifth spot in the individual standings.
Two of the golfers Morgan tied are Gamecock golfers Ana Pelaez and Mathilde Claisee.
The top ranked Gamecocks are in 5th place after the first round. The top-6 teams advance from the regional to the national championship finals.
USC shot a 7-over par 295 to trail first round leader Florida State by 9-shots.

The Gamecocks top ranked player Pauline Roussin-Bouchard had a difficult first day. The number 1 player in the country shot a 7-over par 79 to be in a tie for 71st.
Ten other golfers including Furman’s Madison Moosa and Sarah-Eve Rheaume are tied with Roussin-Bouchard.
USC Upstate’s Beem Pabsimma posted a 3-over 75 and is in a tie for 32nd place. The Spartan is the first golfer from the women’s program at the school to play in a NCAA Regional.
The College of Charleston is 16th in the Regional competition at the University of Louisville Golf Club.

Clemson in 14th at Columbus Regional
Clemson shot an opening round 299 to trail Oklahoma, the first round leader, by 13 shots at the Columbus Regional.
The Tigers are 8-shots out of sixth place. The top-six teams advance to the NCAA Finals.
Alexandra Swayne had the best score for Clemson. The Tiger junior is at even par, tied with 7 other golfers for 15th place.
Coastal Carolina is in a tie for 11th with Kentucky.

Limestone begins play in DII Championship
The Limestone Saints begin play in the NCAA Division II National championship on Tuesday, May 11th at the TPC of Michigan in Dearborn.
The Saints have been ranked among the top-4 teams in DII all year.
Coach Zach Seifert’s lineup will include Ebba Hellman, Lena Schilowsky, Pilar Martinez, Stina Wikstrom and Taylor Oberparleiter.
Anderson University’s Emma Charles will compete in the national championship as an individual.
