Next to the SCGA Junior Championship the Grant Bennett Florence Junior Invitational is a championship to headline any Palmetto State juniors golf resume.
Walker Jennings now can put the victory at the top of his list of wins as the Greenville golfer shot 3-under par rounds to win the important championship at the Florence Country Club.
Jennings opened the tournament with a 4-under par 67 and was a shot behind first round leader Jerry Bruns from Beaufort.
In the second round, the Christ Church High School golfer shot a 2-under 69 while Bruns posted an even par 71 to take the lead by a shot going into the final round.

“I started a lot better than I did yesterday,” said Jennings. “I went one under through the first three and I was three over through three yesterday,” he said.
Jennings closed out the tournament with his second straight 2-under par 69 to finish at 8-under par.
His 54 hole total of 205 earned him a comfortable 3-shot win over Rowan Sullivan from Charleston, who last week won the SCGA Junior Championship.
“My plan was to stay patient, have fun and just enjoy playing because it’s a special opportunity to play at this course and in this tournament.,” said Jennings
Jennings had helped the Cavaliers to the high school state championship in May and finished tied for 11th in the state junior a week ago.
Greenville County High School champion Major Lenning from Mauldin shot a 2-under par 69 to move into a tie with Bruns for third place.
Greenville’s Hugh Faulkner finished the 54 hole event at 1-over par 214 to tie for sixth place in the overall standings, but won the 13-14 year old age group division.
Faulkner, who was an All-State golfer for Greenville High School, finished 3-shots in front of Deaton Reed from Lancaster to capture the age group title.
In the other age group divisions Connor Wolfe from Blythewood finished a shot in front of Woods Weston from Columbia to win the 10 and under title.
John Wylie RIchardson from Florence shot a 2-under par final round 69 to win the 12 and under age group division.
