The third annual Upstate Ladies Amateur Golf Championship completed the first round of play at Green Valley Country Club.

Stephanie Johnson has the lead after shooting an opening round 1-under par 71.

Liz Yacovone shot a 3-over par 74 to be in second place with defending champion Taylor Lance in third place after carding a 4-over par 76.

Almost 90 golfers from just about every Upstate County have made the field the largest since the new organization replaced the former Ladies Tournament organization which did not include golfers from the entire Upstate.

The tournament includes nine flights. The second round begins with a shotgun start at 9 am on Tuesday.
