The Lady Paladins had a good day as they began the defense of their SoCon Championship at Moss Creek Plantation near Hilton Head.
Anna Morgan has the individual lead after firing a 2-under par 70.
As a team the Lady Paladins posted a 297 total to hold a 4-shot lead over Western Carolina with East Tennessee State in third.
Furman freshman Chloe Johnson shot an opening round 1-over par 73 to be tied for third while Caroline Crummrie carded a 4-over 76 to finish the first 18 holes in a tie for tenth.
Wofford’s Nicole Amos is the top Terrier in the field so far after shooting a 1-over 73 to be tied for third.
The Terriers as a team are fifth.
