The 20th Annual Cyder Cup Matches took place on September 30th and October 1st at The Carolina Country Club, pitting Greenville Amateurs vs. Spartanburg Amateurs.

Spartanburg was able to retain the cup once again by a score of 18.5 to 13.5, closing the gap on Greenville in the all-time race. Greenville now leads with a record of 10-9-1. 

The matches started out hot for Spartanburg on Saturday Morning, jumping out to a dominant 7-1 lead in Four Ball Best Ball.

Greenville would then make it interesting with a solid Alternate Shot window, making the Day 1 total score 10-6 Spartanburg.

Spartanburg would then start slow in Singles Matches, but turn it up to win 8 of the 16 matches and eventually get the final tally of 18.5-13.5. 

Since its inception both teams have now combined to raise over $491,000 for First Tee — Upstate South Carolina. The teams raised a combined $35,508 this season to take that total close to $500,000!
