It is just about impossible to miss the golf sign that seems to float in the sky near Blackstock Road on the West side of Spartanburg,
Lon Hatcher wanted to make sure golfers could find his shop located at 300 East Blackstock Road and the sign has done its job.
“The only wording we have on the sign is “GOLF” and golfers see it and want to know more about us,” he said,
Hatcher opened Tour Shaft Golf in 2021 and has expanded the business to include lessons as well as club sales.
“Our mission is to help our customers get the most out of their golf game through proper fitting and data based instruction,” said Hatcher.
Tour Shaft Golf is the only authorized retailer for the PXG line of high end golf clubs.
Tour Shaft Golf golf shop not only offers the PXG clubs, but also has an extensive offering of golf shafts.

“We stock golf shafts from the world’s premium shaft manufacturers including: Graphite Design, Mitsubishi, Fujikura, L.A. Golf, True Temper, Project X and more,” he said.
To get the most precise fitting of the PXG clubs and the large collection of shafts Hatcher has a Trackman Gen 4 Launch Monitor he uses in fittings and lessons.
“Trackman takes the guess work out of fitting. We like to have golfers bring their current clubs with them so they can compare what they are playing to what will improve their game,” said Hatcher.
In addition to the clubs and shafts the shop has all the accessories a golfer may need.
“We have high end clubs, but we also offer a beginners set of irons for $299,: he said.
With a wide array of shafts and a proven club from PXG Hatcher believes he can help golfers play better with a proper fit.
“Playing your best golf is a combination of the right technique and the right equipment. With the help of TrackMan’s Gen 4 Launch Monitor technology, we help our players understand and improve elements of their golf swing such as: Club Path, Face Angle, Impact Location, Attack Angle, Launch Angle, Smash Factor and Spin Rate,” he said.
By the way. if you didn’t know what PXG stood for it is Parsons Extreme Golf, named for the founder and developer of the club line.

Bob Parsons is a billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist who went from nearly being a high school drop out to founding the internet domain registration company Go Daddy.
As a self proclaimed golf not Parsons could never find clubs he liked and in 2015 started PXG to build golf clubs the way he wanted.
Just as Go Daddy and several other business interest he developed, PXG has become very successful.
Tourshaftgolf.com is the web site for the shop. It is open Monday thru Saturday from 9am-6pm.
