Novak and Hardee meet for Match Play title

A pair of college golfers will meet to determine the 2015 CGA South Carolina Match Play championship.

Defending SCGA Amateur Champion Andrew Novak from Wofford College will meet former Riverside High School standout and current Alabama golfer Jonathan Hardee for the title at Windermere Club in Blythewood.

Novak earned his spot in the final with a 3&2 win over Matthew Laydon, Hardee needed 20 holes to top Jeremy Grab, also from Wofford.

Hardee was named to the All-SEC Freshman team this year and finished 11th in the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Regional.

Novak won last summer’s South Carolina Golf Association Amateur championship and earned a pair of top-5 finishes during the season for the Terrier golf team.

The two golfers came from well down in the draw to play for the title. Novak was seeded 25th and Hardee was 20th at the conclusion of stroke play.

The final match will begin at 8 AM on Sunday.
