The first round leaders made their leads hold up and MK Talledo and Zach Adams claimed the championships at the Morgan Lucas tournament.
The two golfers held the lead they earned during a very difficult first round. fortunately for the field of 84 top juniors from around South Carolina the weather was much better in the second round.
Future College of Charleston golfer Emily Dunlap from Mauldin fired the shot the best final round in the girls division.
Dunlap improved by seven shots in the second round to finish in second place, four shots behind Talledo.
Greenville’s Peyton Gillespie finished in third place.
The victory by Talledo adds to her fine start for the 2019 season. The Boiling Springs High School golfer recorded top ten finishes in the Dustin Johnson World Junior and the Sea Pines Junior Heritage.
” It gives me the confidence to know I can win and hopefully have more wins throughout the year,” she said.
Zach Adams also made his first round lead stand up to claim the boys title at the tournament played at the Greenville Country Club’s Chanticleer course.

Adams opened the event with a first round 2-under par 70 and followed it up with a final round 1-over par 73 to win the championship by four shots.
Keegan Vaugh from Charleston finished in second place shooting an even par final round.
Braden Barnet from Galivant’s Ferry had the best final round shooting a 1-under par 71 and moved up to third place.
Adams victory, like Talledo’s continued a string of good finishes.
Adams won the qualifier for the Dustin Johnson World Junior and also was the boys champion at the Ford Picard Christmas Classic.
