Salzer and Willis are going to US Junior Am

Future Wofford golfer Nick Willis from Spartanburg and NC State golfer Christian Salzer from Sumter punched their tickets to play in the US Junior Amateur.

The two finished on top of a field of 67 golfers trying for the two available spots that were available, The qualifying session was  held at Santee National Golf Club.

Salzer was the qualifying medalist after shooting a 5 -under par 66. Willis finished one shot behind the former SCGA Junior champion by one shot.

A.J. Beechler finished third and will be the first alternate from the qualifying. Zack Gordon of Gaffney has the fourth best score shooting a 3-under par 69 to earn the opportunity to be the second alternate.

The 2017 United States Junior Amateur Championship will be played at Flint Hills National Golf Club in Andover, Kansas on July 17 – July 22, 2017.
