Gracyn Burgess was the only golfer to finish under par in the first round of the WSCGA Girls Junior championship.
Burgess carded a 1-under par 71 to have a one shot lead in the championship being played at Wescott Plantation in Summerville.
The future Clemson golfer leads Christ Church golfer Peyton Gillespie by one shot after the opening round.
Katie Whitfield of Clemson and Rachel Rich of Mount Pleasant are tied for third after shooting a 1-over par 73.
Inman’s Elle Johnson is in fifth place and is tied with defending champion Jodee Tindal of Rock Hill.
Defending champion Baylee Evans of Lancaster is tied with three other golfers for seventh place.
